A care-experienced charity

Care leavers shouldn’t do this by themselves.

PREEA helps young people leaving care with the stuff that piles up at 18: housing, mental health, knowing who you are. We’ve been there. We don’t go anywhere.

Our mission

Every care leaver deserves a steady place to land, and someone who picks up the phone.

The system stops checking in at 18. We don’t. PREEA is a small, stubborn charity led by people who’ve been through the care system themselves. We sit with young people through the bits no one explains, and stay around long after the paperwork closes.

What we do

Three things at once, because that’s how life arrives.

Leaving care isn’t one problem you can solve in a corner. It’s housing and your head and figuring out who you are, all in the same week. So we work across all of it.

Stability

Independent living is a skill, not a switch you flip on a birthday. We give young people the time it actually takes to learn it.

Belonging

A warm room, a regular meal, a group chat where no one acts surprised that life is hard. The small, repeated things that make a community.

Advocacy

We sit with you through housing meetings, UC applications and the forms that make people give up. You shouldn’t need a degree to get what you’re owed.
